About Us
How Angostura Reserve Came to Be
We’re a family from Rapid City. We’ve spent our whole lives hiking, fishing, and driving the back roads of the Black Hills. We know this part of South Dakota the way you know your own neighborhood — the good spots, the quiet corners, the places most people drive right past.
A few years ago, we found ourselves out near Angostura Reservoir and thought: this place deserves something better than what’s here. The lake is gorgeous. The setting is peaceful. And there wasn’t a single place to stay that actually felt like a retreat.
So we built one.
Angostura Reserve started as an idea around a kitchen table and turned into 10 tiny homes near the reservoir — each one designed the way we’d want to stay ourselves. Comfortable. Clean. Simple. No gimmicks, just a consistently premium, high-quality place to land when you need to get away.
